Successful First Networking Event Marks the Launch of the TOP-GUT Doctoral Network Project!
The Kick-off Meeting (KoM) with the Doctoral Candidates (DCs) of the MSCA-DN project TOP-GUT (Training for Organoids modelling Physiology and Pathology in the human gastrointestinal tract) was a fantastic opportunity to get insight into the scientific background of the project from excellent keynote speakers and delved into the details of the individual DC projects. The interaction and discussion with the bright, energetic, and dedicated 11 DCs and their supervisors, who are leaders in their specific fields was truly inspirational.
Over the next 36 months, the DCs will be the driving force behind the TOP-GUT project. Leveraging their expertise, they aim to generate groundbreaking data and insights that will significantly advance preclinical models and personalized medicine, paving the way for clinical applications.
Following the meeting, DCs participated on 23-24 May in two days of training on transferable skills, including good scientific practice, data quality and reproducibility, and promoting diversity in science.
The meeting was hosted and organized by Prof. Sina Bartfeld’s team, the coordinator of TOP-GUT, with support from Innovation Acta and it took place between May 21st-22nd at the premises of the Technische Universität Berlin.
The social event, a tour in the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin organized by the host, was a wonderful experience.
Best wishes to all the DCs as they embark on an exciting 3-year scientific journey and career development!
