Training event 3 & Mid-Term Meeting

Exciting Week for TOP-GUT in Porto!

TOP-GUT Training Event & Mid-Term Meeting , hosted by our partner i3S – Instituto de Investigação e Inovação em Saúde, in the beautiful city of Porto, brought together TOP-GUT “family” for this unique learning experience.

The week included a comprehensive training programme for the 11 talented doctoral candidates, that combined theoretical insights with hands-on practical sessions in Advancing Organoid Models

Practical Classes on:

• Quantitative Analysis of Organoid Morphometric Parameters
• Gastric & Intestinal Organoid Culture, Maintenance & Analysis
• Advanced microscopy and histology for Patient derive Organoids analysis

The event also covered key topics in translational research and complex in vitro gastrointestinal models, bridging the gap from bench to bedside.

A special highlight was the Annual Consortium Meeting, a fantastic opportunity for DCs to present their posters and share their preliminary results to the network, to the project officer and experts in the field who gave invaluable insights and feedback to further strengthen our work.

As part of the review meeting, the coordinator Sina Bartfeld also provided a comprehensive overview of the project progress highlighting that all activities are running successfully and on track.This week not only enhanced our technical expertise but also fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration among all participants.
